CADMAX View and View Plus

View and View Plus Product Details

Product designs need to be shared throughout a company by many different personnel and business units. CADMAX View and View Plus offer your design team a flexible and easy to use tool for communicating their designs to management, shop floor, sales, and engineers while maintaining design integrity. CADMAX View promotes communication and helps prevent design errors by automating the design review process.

Share Engineering Designs
CADMAX View and View Plus permit CADMAX users to view, plot and markup CADMAX and AutoCAD (View Plus only) drawings on low-cost PC workstations. With a local-area-network, CADMAX View promotes communication and helps prevent design errors by enabling the CAD database to be used throughout an organization. As a desktop tool, engineers and managers will find CADMAX View so easy to operate that they won't hesitate to use it to make block diagrams and sketches.

CADMAX View's plotting facilities allow any CADMAX drawing to be plotted without interrupting CADMAX users. CADMAX View is an outstanding facility as a plotting station in high production environments.

IGES is available as an option for CADMAX View Plus. Linked with CADMAX View Plus, users can process IGES data for review and conversion without making a significant investment in CAD software first.

Promote Communication
CADMAX View and View Plus promote communication and a "work group" atmosphere. Engineers, managers, salesmen and manufacturing personnel can easily share ideas with the ability to instantly see and share CADMAX drawings. CADMAX View even provides for viewing hidden line and shaded drawings. CADMAX View can also improve customer relations by using CADMAX View at off-site or point-of-sale locations.

Checkers and managers will use CADMAX View and View Plus to review and redline CADMAX drawings. The drawings can be marked with notes, new geometry can be added and inaccurate geometry crossed out. Once the markup is complete, designers and drafters can view the redlines while making the appropriate corrections to the drawing.

Protects the Engineering Database
Original CADMAX drawings cannot be modified by CADMAX View or View Plus. Managers and checkers can recommend changes while maintaining the integrity of the engineering database. CADMAX View reads drawings in CADMAX file format. There is no need for translators or duplicate copies of each file. The result is: reduced potential for error, a common CAD database that can be easily shared throughout the organization, and a more productive design environment.

Built-in Alarming
Markups are saved on a reserved level within the current drawing. Once markups have been made to a drawing, automatic alarms inform the user that the drawing has markups when it is opened in CADMAX. CADMAX View takes an engineering department one step closer to becoming paperless, since design reviews and engineering changes can be made without having to produce paper drawings.

Full Markup Capabilities
Although drawings cannot be changed, CADMAX can snap to any 2D or 3D geometry for making calculations and measurements in order to check a drawing. CADMAX View supports lines, orthogonal lines, splines, leader, area fill, text, grids, and symbol entry for redlining. In addition, View Plus supports arcs, circles, rectangles, and a variety of features to move, scale, and rotate markups.

Easy to Learn and Use
Existing CADMAX users will be productive with CADMAX View in less than 30 minutes. That's as long as it will take to review the menus. The user-interface is similar to CADMAX, but has been greatly simplified.

New users will be productive with CADMAX View in a few short hours. Pull-down menus, dialogue boxes, and context sensitive prompts guide you through each function for creating drawing markups, flow diagrams, or plot file creation. Make a selection by simply clicking your mouse.
