General Interest

Getstart.pdf (315k)   Overview of CADMAX's user-interface. Learn the basics and how to get around in CADMAX. You will learn how to open drawings and work with CADMAX menus.

Parametric, Feature-based solid modeling

bracket.pdf (431k)
Create a bracket and make modifications by editing a sketch and changing its variables. Learn basic sketching techniques. Use extrude, shell, and fillet features.

pipe_cavity.pdf (637k)
Create a flange. Learn new techniques to establish sketch planes. Use extrude, swing, fillet, and circular array features.

bracket2.pdf (509k)
Create another bracket in metric. To make this part we recommend that you make bracket.pdf and flange.pdf first. Shows new, more advanced sketching techniques. Use extrude with boss, cut and intersection and complex fillets.

assembly.pdf (446k)
Create dynamic relationships between parts by modeling parts together in the same drawing. Place parts from other documents into an assembly.

detailing.pdf (653k)
Set up detailing views from the model. Add dimensions, and notes. Make changes to the model and show results instantly in the detail view.

Boolean Solid modeling

clamp_ring.pdf (173k)
Construct a clamp ring. Functions you will learn to use include entering geometry, rotational sweep, boolean add and subtract, and circular array.

connector.pdf (244k)
Construct a 27-pin connector. Functions you will learn to use include entering geometry, extrude, boolean add and subtract, variable radius fillets, fixed radius fillets, and linear array.

connector_screw.pdf (119k)
Construct the screw for the 27-pin connector. Functions you will learn to use include entering geometry, rotational sweep, extrude, boolean add and subtract, fixed radius fillets, and circular array.

tape_dispenser.pdf (170k)
Construct a tape dispenser using a combination of free-form surface modeling and boolean solid modeling. Functions you will learn to use include entering geometry, rotational sweep, extrude, boolean add and subtract, fixed radius fillets, and circular array.
